Our rental avalanche airbags are the BCA Float 2.0 32 liter, a spacious touring backpack equipped with a compact Float 2.0 airbag system. The airbag is housed in a 32-liter backpack and can be activated by simply pulling the trigger, inflating fully in just 2 seconds. The larger surface area of the airbag significantly reduces the likelihood of being completely buried, as the buoyancy of the backpack and the person wearing it is increased many times over. To prevent the backpack from being pulled off your back in an avalanche, the waist belt has two leg loops that can be used if necessary to secure the backpack to your body. If you feel too restricted by these, you can also conveniently stow the leg loops in the waist belt.

The backpack itself is compatible with a hydration system and has separate pockets for a shovel and probe. On the outside, there are attachment points for securing skis diagonally to the backpack—e.g., when climbing to the summit. A vertical attachment option is available for snowboarders.

Of course, our staff checks the airbag for proper functioning after each use.

Options for picking up rental Equipment

Pickup at the store: The easiest and most straightforward way to pick up rental equipment is to do so at our store during our opening hours. If you need a large amount of equipment, please give us a quick call so that we can reserve it for you.
Pick-up and delivery service within Garmisch-Partenkirchen: If you are unable to visit our store during our opening hours, we also offer a pick-up and delivery service to your accommodation for anyone staying in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Farchant, or Grainau. This service costs a one-time fee of €40. We will deliver the equipment to your accommodation and pick it up again when you are ready to return it. Please send us an email with your full address, the equipment you need, and your accommodation Details.

Options for returning rental Equipment

Return to the store: The easiest and most straightforward way to return rental equipment is to bring it back to our store during our opening hours.
Return via boxes outside the store: If you are unable to return the equipment during our opening hours, we offer the option of returning it via rental boxes located outside our store. When you pick up the equipment, you will be given the location and code number for your rental box, allowing you to return the equipment outside of opening hours. Please note that we only have a limited number of rental boxes available and these are often fully booked on weekends. We therefore cannot guarantee that you will be able to return your equipment to a rental box.
Pick-up and delivery service within Garmisch-Partenkirchen: If you are unable to visit our store during our opening hours, we also offer a pick-up and delivery service to your accommodation for anyone staying in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Farchant, or Grainau. This service costs a one-time fee of €40. We will deliver the equipment to your accommodation and collect it again from there. Rental with pickup of equipment at our store
Only the days on which you actually have the rental equipment count. If you pick up the equipment after 4:00 p.m., the pickup day will not be counted. If you return the equipment by 10:00 a.m., the return day will not be counted.
